As the country celebrated 43 years as an independent nation, the government security Forces were out on Clifford Park in solidarity to help make the occasion unforgettable. On the night of July 9, Governor General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, Her Excellency Dame Marguerite Pindling inspected the troops who were dressed in their formal attires. The hoisting of the Bahamian flag signified the dawning of independence. As the large crowd applauded the efforts of the hard working men and women for their labour in help making the country safer, the Governor General along with Prime Minister Christie and leaders of the Armed Forces stood to receive the march pass.
