The Royal Bahamas Defence Force joined the world and the country in paying tributes to the men and women who served in active duty during World Wars I and II. During a weekend of activities, the Commander Defence Force (Acting), officers and marines participated in wreath-laying ceremonies at the Veterans War Cemetery, Infant View Road, and at the Cenotaph memorial, downtown Nassau. They also joined in with the surviving members of the British Legion – Bahamas Branch for a military flag raising ceremony at the branch’s headquarters, adjacent to St. Agnes Parish, Blue Hills Road. A service of Thanksgiving took place at the church.

In saluting the men and women who gave their lives for their country, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to protecting the territorial integrity of The Bahamas.
