Rear Admiral Craig Baines of the Canadian Armed Forces paid a courtesy call on Commodore Tellis Bethel, Commander Defence Force at HMBS Coral Harbour on June 19, 2018.

While at the Base, he was introduced to the Defence Force’s Senior Command team and the key role leaders for the ongoing Tradewinds Exercise which culminates on June 21. They include Commodore Tellis Bethel, who serves as Chief of Defence Staff for the exercise; Commander Frederick Brown, Task Force Commander for the exercise; Lieutenant Colonel Kenlloyd Roberts, Chief of Staff for the exercise, Lieutenant Commander Ricardo Barry, Co-Director of the Exercise Control Group, and Force Chief Petty Officer Oral Wood, Regimental Sargent Major (RSM) for Tradewinds 2018.

A decorated Officer, Rear Admiral Baines began his career in the navy as a Maritime Surface Officer in 1987. He has served in numerous billets aboard several Canadian vessels and also at the National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa. Rear Admiral Baines has also served as Fleet Commander of Canadian Fleet Atlantic, and in September 2017, he assumed Command of Maritime Forces Atlantic and Joint Task Force Atlantic.
