Admiral Phillip S. Davidson currently serving as United States Fleet Forces Command/Naval Forces U.S. Northern Command, recently paid a courtesy call on the Acting Commander Defence Force, Captain Tellis Bethel at Coral Habour Base. During the visit matters of mutual interest were discussed prior to Admiral Davidson being given a tour of Coral Harbour Base. During the tour, Admiral Davidson visited various departments at Coral Harbour, in addition to visiting the Defence Force’s Airwing Base, HMBS Durward Knowles, and the Harbour Patrol Unit on East Bay Street. Admiral Davidson was also taken on a tour of Nassau Harbour and surrounding areas aboard the recently acquired Safe Boat vessel that was donated to the Defence Force by the United States government. A 1982 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Naval War College, Admiral Davidson has a Master of Arts degree in National Security and Strategic Studies, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He served earlier in his career in policy, strategy and operations billets on multiple tours with the U.S. Pacific Fleet staff, the Navy staff and the Joint Staff, as well as the Navy’s military aide to the vice president of the United States. In his most recent assignment, he was the commander, U.S. 6th Fleet and the commander, Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, while simultaneously serving as the deputy commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe and U.S. Naval Forces Africa. His previous command assignments include command of Carrier Strike Group 8/Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, USS Gettysburg (CG 64) and USS Taylor (FFG 50).
