The Ministry of National Security successfully signed an agreement formalizing the handover of military materials and band equipment from the Government of the People’s Republic of China to the Government of The Bahamas on November 26, 2024.
The handover signing, which took place at the Ministry of National Security Complex on John F. Kennedy Drive reflects the continued cooperation and friendship between The Bahamas and China, fostering mutual support in areas of national security and cultural development. The equipment provided will enhance operational capabilities and further support the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Band in its service to the nation.
Her Excellency Yan Jiarong, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to The Bahamas, led the Chinese delegation, while the Bahamian delegation was represented by the Hon. Wayne Munroe, KC, Minister of National Security, accompanied by Commander Defence Force Commodore Raymond E. King and members of his executive team.
During the meeting, the attendees expressed their shared commitment to strengthening the long- standing relationship between the two nations.
This collaboration underscores The Bahamas’ ongoing commitment to enhancing its national security infrastructure while preserving cultural and diplomatic ties with international partners.
