Chief Petty Officer Denise Oliver successfully completed the Chief Petty Officer Academy Course Class 310 at the U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Leadership Academy on September 13, 2024, in Petaluma, California.

The course concluded with a Graduation Banquet for 80 participants at the DoubleTree Hilton, where Senior Chief Able Lara delivered the closing remarks and Command Master Chief Frank G. Tatu addressed the graduates. Diplomas were presented to the successful participants on behalf of Captain Matthew Chong, Commanding Officer of Training Center Petaluma.

The curriculum offered an advanced leadership program focused on teamwork, leadership development, and strategic thinking for senior enlisted personnel. It encompassed leadership practices, wellness and fitness, presentation skills, time and change management, effective communication, diversity and inclusion, and ethical decision-making. Participants also underwent weekly fitness assessments, including a 1.5-mile run, push-ups, sit-ups, a 100-meter swim, and endurance treading.

The program also featured an obstacle course challenge that assessed strength, balance, and coordination after which Chief Petty Officer Oliver received an honorary certificate upon successful completion. Participants also engaged in community service by assisting the elderly with the distribution of health and food supplies and supported a 5K Fun Run/Walk on base to raise awareness for suicide prevention.

The RBDF under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, is dedicated to continuous development of its personnel via deliberate emphasis on training towards becoming a professional workforce focused on excellence.
