Defence Headquarters, 7 MAY 26 (RBDF): Representatives from the Colombian Aerospace Force met with Minister of National Security, the Honourable Wayne Munroe, K.C., M.P., Permanent Secretary Ms Bridgette Hepburn, and Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd P. Moxey, accompanied by his Executive Leadership Team, on Thursday, 7 May 2026, in the Ministry of National Security Conference Room.
Representing the Colombian Aerospace Force were Lieutenant Colonel Campos and Major Bettencourt, who engaged in discussions focused on regional security cooperation and strengthening collaborative efforts to combat illicit activities throughout the Caribbean region. The meeting served as a continuation of Commander Defence Force’s participation in, and support of Operation Zeus Arcano II, a multinational aerospace security initiative involving several Caribbean nations working jointly on the interdiction of illegal activities and the monitoring of suspicious aircraft movements across regional airspace.
Discussions centered on enhancing the “blanket effect” throughout the Caribbean by improving coordination between participating countries, allowing for real-time continuous monitoring and pursuit of illicit aircraft as they transition between national airspaces. The Colombian delegation also expressed interest in establishing a Memorandum of Understanding with The Bahamas to strengthen cooperation through intelligence and information sharing, coordinated operations, and aerial patrol support aimed at advancing regional security initiatives. The meeting further reinforced ongoing efforts to finalize collaborative frameworks that will deepen operational partnerships between both nations.
After the engagement, Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd P. Moxey, and the representatives of the Colombian Aerospace Force exchanged tokens and commemorative items as a symbol of mutual respect, cooperation, and the strengthening relationship between both organizations.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, the RBDF is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain committed to strengthening regional and international partnerships that support maritime domain awareness and security as we Guard Our Heritage.
