Commodore Raymond King along with his Executive Leadership team and Command Warrant Officer, Force Chief Petty Officer Ramone Storr were accompanied by RBDF personnel in attending the Bahamas Road to 50 Race.This national event symbolizes Our Nation’s race towards 50 years of independence. The race was held at historic Clifford Park, where attendees opted to participate in the 5k or 10k race via running, walking or cycling. Participants of the 5k started from Clifford Park headed east on West Bay Street and continued onto Bay Street at the halfway point near the Rubis Service Station and returned to Clifford Park. The 10k race followed the same route but with an extension to Montague and a return to Clifford Park. Commander Defence Force, Commodore King with his Executive team participated in the 5k walk. Other RBDF personnel participated in the various races.Refreshments were served post-race along with a concert and an assortment of activities from vendors on location.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed in maintaining and strengthening a favorable relationship with the community through events such as these where nation building is vital.
