Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, joined distinguished guests at the annual Investiture Ceremony held on December 2, 2024, in the Grand Ballroom of Government House. The event, attended by family, friends, and well-wishers, honored Bahamians who have made exceptional contributions to national development across various fields, including culture, sports, health, business, religion, and humanitarian efforts.
This year’s ceremony underscored the unwavering spirit of excellence and dedication. Highlighting the occasion was the presentation of esteemed honors, including the King’s Police Medal, the British Empire Medal, the Commander of the British Empire, and the Knight Bachelor.
Prime Minister the Honorable Philip Davis delivered the keynote address, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the honorees for their commitment to nation-building and offering a poignant tribute to those who have passed.
Notable recipients included police officers Mr. Leamond Delevaux, Mr. Bernard Bonamy, Mr. Theophilus Cunningham, and Mr. Enrick Seymour, who were awarded the King’s Police Medal for their exemplary service. Mr. Clayton Curtis and Mr. Edison Auric Dames were also recognized for their invaluable contributions to Bahamian culture, showcasing the nation’s rich heritage and artistry.
Following the formal proceedings, Her Excellency the Most Honorable Dame Cynthia A. Pratt hosted a reception in the courtyard, where attendees celebrated the honorees’ achievements in a warm and convivial atmosphere.
