Defence Headquarters, 22 MAY ‘23 (RBDF): The Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, accompanied by Aide de Camp Lieutenant Commander Hart and Command Warrant Force Chief Petty Officer Remone Storr, were among the invited dignitaries and guests at the National Ecumenical Church Service held at Evangelistic Temple on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

The event, which served as “A National Call to Prayer” in celebration of the country’s Golden Jubilee Independence Celebrations, was a attended by the Governor General, His Excellency Sir Cornelius A. Smith, Prime Minister the Honorable Philip E. Davis KC, and Cabinet Parliamentarians and governmental and non-governmental officials.

Led by Religious and Community leaders, the service was one of the many events leading to the 50th anniversary of independence. The sermon shed light on how progressive the Bahamas has become as a nation and highlighted the key importance of prayer and the overall abundance of God’s mercy and grace.
