The Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King participated in a virtual Conference meeting at the residence of the British High Commissioner, Her Excellency Sarah Dickson, on November 19, 2020.
Chaired by United Kingdom Defence Attaché Lt Col Simon Westlake, the UK- Caribbean Chiefs of Defence Staff (CODS) conference provided a forum for high-level engagement between regional CODS to advance strategic priorities for their respective militaries.
Accompanied by Captain Shawn Adderley, who serves as RBDF Command Staff Officer for Strategy and Policy, discussions focused on Transnational Organized Crime and Maritime Domain Awareness, Institutional Capacity Building, Military Capability Development, Training and Education, Support for the Caribbean Maritime Academy, Senior Officer Staff School in Guyana, Civil Engineering Corps Training assistance, Guyana Defence Force Senior Command Course and Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) and Disaster Management.
At the end of the conference both Commodore King and Her Excellency Sarah Dickson also engaged in mutual discussions on collaborative matters pertaining to strengthening relations in the Caribbean.
