Participants in the CORAL CAYS Table Top Exercise (TTX) from the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and US Northern Command (USNORTHCOM) at Coral Harbour Base.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force and USNORTHCOM Joint Training and Readiness Directorate conducted the CORAL CAYS TTX from 15-17 September 2015 at the Coral Harbour Base Training Facility. Members from NEMA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, Customs and RBDF staff, Operation Bahamas, Turks and Caicos (OPBAT), USNORTHCOM staff, Special Operations Command North and Naval Forces North, worked together to address roles, responsibilities and key interagency interactions in a potential terrorist attack scenario in The Bahamas. The outcome of the exercise will provide The Bahamas and the United States a better understanding of how they might share information and respond to defend against, prepare for and mitigate against the attack scenario. Participants expressed the value of doing this exercise together because it showed the importance of collaborative information sharing while helping to build relationships that many agreed made CORAL CAYS 15-2 a resounding success.
