Cuban Migrants Apprehended

Defence Headquarters, 25 JAN. ‘23 (RBDF): Seven (7) Cuban migrants were apprehended Tuesday morning on Cat Cay, Bimini in a combined operation between the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and Bahamas Immigration Department.

Acting on intelligence received from Bahamas Immigration, Chief Petty Officer Doyle Johnson assisted by Immigration officials were immediately dispatched by safe boat to the area to investigate.

Officials retrieved seven Cuban migrants from the cay, consisting of five (5) adult males, one (1) male minor and one (1) adult female. The migrants were transported to Bimini and handed over to Immigration officials for further processing.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to protecting the territorial integrity of The Bahamas and keeping our borders secured through partnerships with local and international agencies.
