A total of fifty-two (52) Cuban migrants were turned over to Immigration Officials after they were apprehended in Bahamian waters during the past several days following the combined efforts of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and regional partners.On Wednesday 25 January, HMBS Nassau while on patrol in the immediate area rendezvoused with the United States Coast Guard Cutter James and embarked eighteen (18) Cuban migrants 32nm north of Cay Sal Banks. On Thursday 26 January, RBDF Command Center received reports from OPBAT of additional migrants on Anguilla Cay on a beached 25ft vessel.
