Coral Harbour Base, 03 DEC. ‘18 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence Force once again has demonstrated excellence in fitness and proved to be a force to be reckoned with, as they displayed their fitness prowess at 2 separate Fun Run & Walk competitions over the weekend.

At the Bahamas Aids for Foundation meet, Marine Seamen Troy Seymour and Wellington Ramsey placed 1st and 2nd respectively in the Under 30 Males Category running a total of nine (9) miles in distance. Sub Lieutenant Delroy Dennis came 2nd in the Under 40 category and Leading Seaman Angelo Coakley was also 2nd in the Under 50 Male category. Marine Seaman Seymour was the overall winner at the meet.

At the Bahamas Immigration 5K Fun, Run & Walk event, Able Seaman Gregory Lockhart placed 1st in the Under 40 Male Category; Marine Seaman Eric Rolle was 3rd in the Under 30 Male Category; and Leading Woman Marine Denise Oliver came 2nd overall in the Over 40 Female category.

Commander Defence Force Commodore Tellis Bethel, congratulated the Training Officer and Sports Officer Senior Lt Deleveaux and his staff for their excellent efforts in maintaining an exemplary edge in sports and fitness and thanked all of the Officers and Marines who participated in the events over the weekend in the particular those receiving honours in their respective categories.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to build community team spirit and camaraderie among public and partner agencies as it protects the territorial waters of The Bahamas.
