A vessel containing Haitian migrants was intercepted in Bahamian waters on Monday, April 11, 2022.The coordinated effort between the US Coast Guard, Cuban Border Patrol and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force led to the vessel being interdicted approximately three (3) nautical miles off Anguilla Cay by US Coast Guard Cutter, USCGC Resolute. Further investigations discovered that sixty-five (65) Haitian migrants were onboard. The US Cutter rendezvoused with HMBS Nassau who transferred the migrants to New Providence for medical assessment and to be turned over to relevant authorities.
