During a formal awards presentation held at HMBS Coral Harbour on April 14, 2025, the officers of HMBS Bahamas proudly recognized two exceptional members of their ship’s company for their exemplary dedication, professionalism, and service. Presenting the awards was Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn Mcphee and other heads of departments.
Woman Marine Karla Williams was named Marine of the Quarter, receiving high commendation for her outstanding discipline, tireless work ethic, and unwavering commitment to her duties. Her
consistent performance and positive attitude have made her a role model among her peers, reflecting the high standards expected aboard HMBS Bahamas.
Leading Mechanic Garon Bowe was awarded Engineer of the Quarter, acknowledged for his remarkable technical expertise, reliability, and steadfast support in ensuring the vessel’s
mechanical readiness. His behind-the-scenes contributions have been instrumental in maintaining the ship’s high operational standards.
Speaking to the crew during the ceremony, Lieutenant John Delaney reflected on the challenges faced in service at sea. “There are highs and lows in each day,” he remarked. “But we must stay
steadfast in our efforts to execute our duties with pride and professionalism.” The recognition of Woman Marine Williams and Leading Mechanic Bowe reflects that vision. Their achievements
highlight the dedication, unity, and strength of character that fuel the continued success of HMBS Bahamas and the broader mission of the Defence Force.
The ceremony underscored the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s ongoing commitment to developing a strong, capable, and professional corps of service members. Commander Defence
