A group of marines from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Human Resource Department held their first annual community service event at Pat’s Senior Citizen Home on May 31, 2024.

The facility’s administrator, Mrs. Allison Mason-Rolle, along with Ms. Vanessa Adderley, warmly greeted the marines upon their arrival. Once

Spearheaded by Acting Lieutenant Commander Thora Gardiner, Human Resource Officer of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, the aim of the initiative was to help clean up the grounds of the senior home, and spruce up its appearance. This was accomplished by cutting and mowing overgrown grass patches, weeding the gardens, cleaning all the exterior windows, and constructing a pathway for the caretakers to use. Their efforts significantly improved both the facility’s appearance and functionality.


Upon the completion of their tasks, Mrs. Allison Mason-Rolle expressed her gratitude to the marines for their hard work and dedication. Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force demonstrates its commitment to responsible corporate citizenship through extensive outreach initiatives and projects. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
