Defence Headquarters, 26 JUNE. ‘23 (RBDF): In keeping with The Commander Defence Force Commodore Raymond King’s strategic intent to strengthen security cooperation relations with the United States and the Bahamas, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in collaboration with The Institute for Security Governance, hosted a four-day bilateral meeting at Defence Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive from 20-23 June 2023.
The meeting focused on key topics such as, Strategic Planning, Force Management, and Strategic Human Resource Management that opened the floor for both entities to discuss ways in which to enhance and revolutionize the daily operations of the organization. This also gave rise for the opportunity to reinforce a common understanding of comprehensive security and overall development and planning.
Representatives from the United States and the RBDF gave their input on policies that could be implemented and those that either needed to be amended or completely mitigated as it relates to modifications within sectors of the organization.
Amongst those in attendance were Captain Gregg Gellman, Senior Defence Attaché within the Office of Defence, US Embassy; Mr. John Seamon, Mr. Chip Leonard and Mr. Michael Knutson RPL of The Institute for Security Governance; Senior Officers and Senior Enlisted of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to strengthening partnerships with local and international communities while continuing to work in collaboration with regional partners to “Guard Our Heritage.”
