Thirty-seven (37) suspected migrants arrived in New Providence after being transported from the island of Exuma on April 17, 2022. On 16th April 2022, RBDF Operations received reports of a migrant landing on the southern side of Exuma, off Williams Town. Subsequently, officers from the Bahamas Department of Immigration based in Exuma had apprehended the thirty-seven (37) migrants after the landing.HMBS Madeira, commanded by Lieutenant Patrick Lightfoot collected the migrants from Exuma for transport to New Providence, where they arrived at approximately 9:50 p.m. Sunday night and handed over to the relevant authorities.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to its mandate.(RBDF Photos by Able Seaman Paul Rolle II)
