In a combined effort between the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), and the US Coast Guard, a vessel containing One Hundred and Thirty-two (132) suspected Haitian migrants was intercepted in Bahamian waters on Monday, April 18, 2022.The joint effort led to the vessel containing one hundred and nine (109) males, thirteen (13) females and ten (10) minors being intercepted near the Cay Sal Banks by the US Coast Guard Cutter, USCGC Resolute. The USCG Cutter rendezvoused with Her Majesty’s Bahamian Ship (HMBS) Nassau, under the command of Lieutenant Commander Jataro McDonald and handed over the migrants, who were transported to New Providence for medical assessment and to the relevant authorities early Wednesday morning, April 20, 2022.(RBDF Photos by Able Seaman Paul Rolle II)
