The Minister of National Security, the Honourable Marvin Dames congratulated Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King and the selection of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Executive Team during a strategic briefing session with the Senior Officers on Wednesday June 10, 2020.

Held at the Defence Force Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive, Minister Dames assured Commodore King that he has the full support of and the government of The Bahamas and by extension, his ministry, as the Officers and Marines perform their duties. He also charged Commodore King and his Officers to uphold the standards of a Defence Force that is mandated to Guard the territorial integrity of The Bahamas.

Following its promotional exercise in which a number of Defence Force Officers and Marines were either promoted or advanced, the newly formed RBDF’s Executive Team was mandated to lead the force into the modern era. During this exercise, Captain Shonedel Pinder was appointed Deputy Commander Defence Force.

Also in attendance at the strategic briefing session was Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of National Security, Mr. Marco Rolle.

One of the five pillars needed for succession in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force is Organizational Decentralization. This involves the strategic deployment of air, land and sea assets, as the force continues to build permanent, self-sufficient bases in the northern and southern Bahamas.
