In a continued effort to improve the quality of life for service personnel, the Ministry of National Security, in collaboration with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), hosted an informative Homeownership Forum on April 16, 2025, onboard HMBS Coral Harbour Base.
The event, aimed at empowering RBDF personnel with knowledge and resources to become homeowners, featured guest speaker Ms. Gaynell Rolle, Under Secretary at the Ministry of National Security. Ms. Rolle emphasized the shared vision of the Minister of National Security and the Commander Defence Force to support Defence Force members in securing homeownership and building communities enriched by military presence.
The forum was organized by Lieutenant Commander Elvis Bullard, Executive Officer of the M.A.C.A, and Force Chief Petty Officer Antoine Adams, Officer-in-Charge of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation Unit. Their joint efforts brought together valuable information for both prospective and current homeowners.
The objective of the forum was to provide guidance to service members interested in purchasing property, as well as to assist those currently navigating the challenges of home construction or completion. The initiative also addressed first-time applicants seeking government housing and offered support for individuals needing to resubmit previously declined or incomplete applications.
Participants attended both in-person and virtually via Zoom and were encouraged to take full advantage of the opportunity to secure long-term financial stability through homeownership. This initiative reflects the RBDF’s continued commitment to the welfare and empowerment of its personnel.
