Last week, Marines from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Administration Department gave two (2) days out of their schedules to assist The Nazareth Centre located in Millennium Gardens. The 24-hour care center is designed to provide a safe and secure environment for children who have been hurt or abused and is currently home to thirty- five (35) children from the ages of infancy to twelve years.Led by Commander Origin Deleveaux, the department showed its support, by sprucing up parts of the center in order to lend to the relaxing and safe atmosphere where the children reside. During the time invested at the center, Marines pressure-washed and painted high-trafficked areas of the facility. The Administrator, Ms. Elizabeth Mackey expressed her gratitude for the effort on behalf of the staff and kids at the center.Efforts such as these, are in alignment with the strategic objective of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, who is very vocal in his support of community service, youth empowerment, and strengthening relationships with the community as a socially corporate citizen. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is committed to being a positive force for good.(RBDF Photos by A/B Michael E.
