The Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force along with members of the Intelligence Department recently made financial contributions to one of their comrades at Defence Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive.

In keeping with the Commander Defence Force’s intent as it pertains to the well-being of RBDF personnel, the financial contribution was presented to Petty Officer Patrick Turnquest, who is currently receiving medical attention. Presenting the check was Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, who also commended the PO Turnquest who continues to perform his duty despite his illness.

Also, in attendance was Commander Derrick Ferguson, Security Intelligence Officer, who also encouraged his comrade on the road to recovery, and spoke highly of the Senior Enlisted.

A 22-year veteran of the organization, Petty Officer Turnquest was recently diagnosed with cancer. He expressed gratitude to his co-workers for the generous donation, which was a small gesture that will go a long way in his recovery efforts. He also expressed thank to all who has been of support to him and his family especially during the past several months.

According to Chief Petty Officer John Ingraham, a member of the Morale Welfare and Recreation Department, this is an ongoing initiative to ensure the morale and well-being of the Officers and Marines are met
