A disabled vessel with two occupants onboard was brought into the capital after efforts by members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Search and Rescue Unit and the United States Coast Guard safely rescued them on Sunday 12, December 2021. After the RBDF Operations Center received a distressed call from a Mr. Bosfield, owner of a 21ft Boston whaler that reportedly left Stokes Cabanas around 3pm Saturday. RBDF safe oat coxswained by Chief Petty Officer Wayde Watson discovered the vessel and towed the vessel to the capital. According to the occupants, the engine was not starting due to the battery being dead. All of the occupants were in fair health when they were rescued.
