The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) hosted a graduation ceremony on April 11, 2025, at the Harbour Patrol Unit to officially certify participants of the Jet Ski Operator Course 02/25. This joint inter-agency initiative included personnel from the Royal Bahamas Police Force, the Port Department, and RBDF Harbour Patrol Unit.

This second cohort of participants underwent comprehensive training from April 6–11, 2025, under the instruction of RBDF personnel: Leading Seaman Desmend Bowe, Able Seaman Philip

Hanna, and Able Seaman Philip Clarke. At the conclusion of the course, eight individuals successfully earned certification as Jet Ski Operators. This qualification will enhance operational readiness and strengthen collaborative efforts of the joint Jet Ski Task Force, which plays a critical role in supporting the Ministry of Tourism through the regulation and enforcement of jet ski operations.

The course also supports the Ministry of National Security’s broader mandate to enhance maritime safety and uphold regulatory standards within Bahamian waters. With certifications, participants are now better equipped to contribute to national security efforts, particularly in high-traffic tourist areas where marine safety is of paramount importance.

Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, the RBDF remains dedicated to building capacity through targeted training programs and cultivating strong inter-agency partnerships that contribute to national development.
