Defence Headquarters, 13 MAY ‘23 (RBDF): The Minister of National Security the Honorable Wayne Munroe K.C. recognized Commander Defence Force, Commander Raymond King, Officers and Marines for their collaboration with the Let Swim Program, during a session at University of The Bahamas Pools on May 11, 2023.

The program led by Andy and Nancy Knowles has been in existence since 2008 and offers swimming lesson to students in the private and public sector. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force team led by Force Chief Petty Officer Thomas Williams has provided military divers to assist as swim coaches and aid in teaching the students various disciplines and swim techniques.

In his address, Minister Munroe thanked the RBDF military divers on their positive results with the students thus far, as they continue to teach them new skills. He also guaranteed that the government would give their support to ensure the success of the program and that every child learns how to swim.

As this initiative aligns with the Commodores strategic objective to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and the community as a socially corporate citizen, Commodore King expressed his delight that the Royal Bahamas Defence Force was selected to partner in this venture and stressed the importance of learning to swim to the students in attendance.
