This initiative is part of the Ministry’s rebranding efforts for its Security Division, with plans to expand the program to train 200 officers to bolster security at schools nationwide.
The training covered a variety of disciplines, including Sentry Duties, Quick Response Protocol, Use of Force Continuum, Active Shooter Response, Rules of Engagement, Arrest and Search Techniques, Access Control, Vehicular Checkpoints, Unarmed Manipulations, Baton Techniques, and Physical Fitness.
Attendees included Deputy Permanent Secretary Ricardo Deveaux, Senior Assistant Secretary Denise Hepburn, Captain Glenn McPhee, Commander Byron Brown, Acting Commander Edwards Fritz, and Sub Lieutenant Darius Adams.
Under Commodore Raymond King’s leadership, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to the security of local communities, national development, community leadership and the protection of our nation’s youth.
