The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Engineering & Technical Operations Department proudly recognized three exceptional Marines through its Marine of the Quarter Awards. The recognition highlights the dedication and excellence demonstrated by personnel who have made significant contributions to the operational effectiveness and mission readiness of the Force.
Able Mechanic Marius Davis of the Aton Section was recognized as the recipient of the Marine of the First Quarter Award. He consistently demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, and technical competence. He played an instrumental role in ensuring the maintenance, reliability, and operational readiness of navigational aids and associated equipment, contributing significantly to the safety of maritime operations.
Leading Mechanic Cecil Saunders, an electrician onboard HMBS Bahamas, was recognized as the recipient of the Marine of the Second Quarter Award. He consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism, technical expertise, and unwavering dedication to duty. He played a critical role in maintaining the operational readiness of the ship’s electrical systems, ensuring the safe and effective execution of all assigned missions.
Marine Mechanic Sebastian Curtis Jr., an Outboard Technician, was recognized as the recipient of the Marine of the Third Quarter Award. He consistently demonstrated exceptional technical proficiency, dedication, and professionalism in the performance of his duties. He played a vital role in maintaining the operational readiness and reliability of the RBDF’s Small Craft Fleet, ensuring vessels remained mission-capable and prepared to respond to operational requirements.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, the RBDF is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we commend Able Mechanic Marius Davis, Leading Mechanic Cecil Saunders, and Marine Mechanic Sebastian Curtis Jr. for this recognition, which reflects the high standards of professionalism, service, and excellence.
