Members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Entry 48 & Woman Entry 18 recently observed ten years of service, and decided the best way to celebrate their milestone was to give back to individuals within the community on Monday, June 7, 2021.

In line with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King’s strategic objective of strengthening relationships with stakeholders and the community at large as a socially corporate citizen, the entry recently joined their efforts to distribute hot breakfast to individuals in the area of the “Retirement Park,” Earnest Avenue and Shirley Street.

Assisted by Ms. Makeva Dean, a member of a non-profit group “Talk Less, More Action,” past and current members of the entry came together to be a blessing to the senior citizens. Breakfast comprising of yellow grits, steamed corned beef, and tuna, along with fresh fruits, snacks, and a choice of juice and bottled water were distributed to pedestrians and individuals who were unable to physically access the area.

Able Seaman Marcion Williams said the group desires to make a sizeable impact on various communities on a more consistent basis and to inspire others to reach out and help those in need. “We may not be able to make an impact every day, but any single day is a major step in the right direction.” Throughout the morning over sixty-five individuals received assistance and expressed gratitude through words of kindness and their emotions.

The combined entry of sixty-three members was observed ten years as a unit, after enlisting on June 7, 2011, and together they continue to make significant contributions to the organization.

Commodore Dr. Raymond King, along with the Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force congratulate Entry 48 Woman Entry 18 on their achievement and extend Bravo Zulu to them as they continue to give back to the community while serving their country.
