The Royal Bahamas Defence Force extends sincerest condolences to the family of the late Petty Officer (Retired) Ronald Brown who passed away on 2nd May 2024.
Petty Officer Brown enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force as a member of Entry 10 on 10th August 1981 and over the course of his 34 years has served in various departments. From his very first interview to enlist, he expressed his interest in Electrical Engineering and followed through on his aspirations, which spoke greatly to his level of determination and commitment. He eventually completed his new entry training and became a direct entry mechanic.
As an Electrical Engineer, he functioned as a Radio Technician, and spent the majority of his years in the Engineering Department’s Radio Workshop. He also spent some time in the Planned Maintenance Section and had the opportunity to gain a wealth of sea-going experience while sailing onboard many of the organization’s crafts including: HMBS Nassau, HMBS Exuma, HMBS Marlin, and HMBS Samana, as craft radio and radar technician and electrical engineer onboard.
Petty Officer Brown was afforded the opportunity to attend various enhancement courses, where he honed his skillset and received many certificates and accolades. This also included a course with the United States Coast Guard’s Information Technology School in Petaluma, California, where he studied AN/SPS-64 Radar Systems Maintenance.
He gave most of his life in service to country and the Royal Bahamas Defence Force will forever benefit from his contributions and sacrifices.
Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King extends sincerest condolences on behalf of the members of his Executive Command Team, Officers, Senior and Junior Enlisted of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, to the family members, loved ones, and friends of the late Petty Officer Brown.
