The Royal Bahamas Defence Force extends sincere condolences to the family of the late Leading Seaman Rodney Adderley, who passed on Monday, January 10, 2022. Leading Seaman Adderley enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force as a member of New Entry 45, on May 15, 2008. Upon completion of New Entry Training, he was drafted to the Squadron Department. He was later drafted to the Military Police Department on 25 October 2011, and to the SOUTHERN COMMAND on 20 July 2020 where he faithfully served until his passing.A dedicated and committed individual, Adderley was a highly qualified training Instructor.

He was afforded the opportunity to participate in the following training courses, The Crisis & Disaster Management Training, Naval Infantry School as a Green Belt Advisor, Taser Training from the Taser Training Academy, Range Safety Officer Course, Close Quarter Combative System, Trafficking-In-Persons Training Seminar, Use of Force Continuum and Non-Lethal Training, United States Marine Corps “One Mind any Weapons” Training, and United States Coast Guard Boatswain’s Mate “A” School. Adderley is a recipient of the Minister of National Security Commendations for his role in the planning and execution of Exercise Trade Winds 2018, and humanitarian efforts on Abaco after the passage of hurricane Dorian.

Additionally, he is a recipient of The Commander Defence Force’s Commendation as well as a Certificate of Appreciation from the Royal Bahamas Police Force for Joint Operations. Adderley served any department that needed training for its personnel. Training is what he enjoyed and was very passionate about. He was quiet and humble but always sought to get the job done while ensuring that those with whom he interacted benefited from his knowledge and experience.The Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King extends sincerest condolences on behalf of the members of the Executive Command, Officers, Warrant Officers, Senior Enlisted and Junior Enlisted of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, to the family members, loved ones, and friends of the late Leading Seaman Rodney Adderley.May God’s grace and peace comfort the family during this time of bereavement.
