RBDF Female Entry gives back in Community Service
Members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Woman Entry 2 paused from their busy schedules as they gave back to the community with a financial contribution on Friday past.
The all-female squad made their presence felt as they presented a financial contribution to Bishop Lawrence Rolle at the International Deliverance Praying Ministries, 2nd Street the Grove. The ladies also seized the opportunity to assist with the serving and feeding of meals to the community.
The females were celebrating their 33rd Anniversary and their commitment to country and service after graduating from recruit training as members of Woman Entry 2 in 1987. Some of the members have since retired or were honorably discharged or transferred to other Government agencies.
Eddiemae Rolle, a former member of the squad, said that: “We felt good about what we did. We chose to give our support to Bishop Rolle because we wanted to assist him and the people in the community. He welcomed the help and was appreciative of our small gesture”.
Affectionately known as the “Singing Bishop”, the church pastor was grateful for the services provided by the Defence Force females.
“People could hardly find food to eat, and here it is, a group of women from the Defence Force came and presented a cheque and they also took up food”, said Bishop Rolle. “I thank God for love. This group of legendary women has opened up their hearts of compassion and are showing the community love. I appreciate it from the depths of my heart, and may God continue to bless the Royal Bahamas Defence Force”.
The squad of Woman Entry 2 comprising 33 females, enlisted on 21 September, 1987, of which there are currently eleven (11) serving members. This extraordinary group of women have proven their worth throughout three decades of national military evolution. Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King commended the women for their loyal dedication and for their individual and collective achievements throughout their tenures, as they continue to pave the way for future generations.
As the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continue to protect the territorial sovereignty of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the organization lauds the achievements of serving members, and appreciates the services of the pioneering veterans.
