The Deputy Commander Defence Force, Captain Shondell Pinder, alongside senior Officers and Marines, met with Acting Permanent Secretary Ms. Bridget E. Hepburn on November 21, 2024, at the Ministry of National Security on John F. Kennedy Drive to finalize the contract signing for the remediation of the recruits’ barracks onboard HMBS Coral Harbour Base.
This initiative, underscores the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s commitment to creating an optimal training environment. The project focuses on restoring and modernizing the South Gate building, which houses the recruits’ barracks, with upgrades designed to meet modern standards.
Recognizing that training is a cornerstone of the Defence Force’s mission, Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King has prioritized providing facilities that support the holistic development of recruits. By embracing these necessary upgrades, the RBDF can better ensure that recruits are molded in an environment conducive to both their personal growth and professional excellence.
