Leading Seaman Mario Ramsey was presented the Marine of the Quarter Award as a token of appreciation for his hard work and dedication to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force Harbour Patrol Unit,
Leading Seaman Ramsey enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in January 2004, and was recently assigned to the Harbour Patrol Unit. He was nominated for the Marine of the Quarter Award for the period January – March 2018.
Senior Lieutenant (Sr. Lt.) Andrew Bowe, who serves as Commanding Officer at the Unit, commended Ramsey along with the other Marines nominated to receive the award. Sr. Lt. Bowe also congratulated the awardees for their exemplary service and dedication to the Harbour Patrol Unit.
The Defence Force Harbour Unit conducts Harbour and beach patrols around Nassau, Paradise Island, and outlying cays. The Unit also provides water side security for cruise ships in Nassau Harbour and works jointly with the marine divisions of the Police Force and Customs Department.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to serve and protect the territorial integrity of The Bahamas.
