The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Headquarters staff hosted a community service initiative at T.A. Thompson Junior High School on Friday, November 29, 2024.
As part of the event, free breakfast was served to the students, reinforcing the RBDF’s commitment to supporting local communities and fostering positive engagement with young Bahamians.
Senior RBDF leadership, including Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, Deputy Commander Defence Force, Captain Shonedel Pinder, Captain Shawn Adderley, and Captain Henry Daxon, participated in the serving of meals, demonstrating their dedication to giving back and interacting with the youth.
Following the breakfast service, grade nine students attended an educational session where Base Executive Officer, Commander Origin Deleveaux delivered an impactful presentation on “Sexting and Digital Boundaries: Navigating Online Relationship Safety”. In his address, hehighlighted the importance of making informed decisions online and understanding the potential consequences of online interactions.
Additionally, Force Chief Petty Officer (Retired), Fredricka King shared valuable insights on “Peer Pressure: Building Confidence to Make Independent Choices”, where she provided students with practical strategies for overcoming peer pressure and emphasized the significance of self-confidence and personal accountability.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to be a responsible corporate citizen. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
