RBDF HOSTS ANNUAL PRE-GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE AT HMBS CORAL HARBOUR

Defence Headquarters, 2 APRIL 26 (RBDF): HMBS Coral Harbour– Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) gathered reverently for the Annual Pre-Good Friday Service held on Wednesday, 1 April 2026, at the HMBS Coral Harbour.

Held under the theme “The Humbled Saviour!” reflecting on Jesus Christ who voluntarily set aside His divine glory to become human, serving others, and submitting to death on a cross. The service formed part of the Force’s spiritual observances during the Easter season, emphasizing humility, sacrifice, and service; values that closely align with the RBDF’s mission and ethos.

Deputy Commander Defence Force Captain Natasha Miller in her remarks on behalf of Commander Defence Force Commodore Floyd Moxey admonished us “may this season remind us that even in the face of trials, victory is assured when we remain steadfast, united, and faithful.”

RBDF Chaplain, the Rt. Hon. Bishop Delton Fernander shared the message that Jesus teaches us how to serve and love even those that will betray us. Even your enemies are a part of God’s Divine plan for your life. Subsequently, Chaplain Fernander served the Holy Communion, offered sacred anointing oil, encouraged reflection, spiritual renewal, faith, and reminded Officers and Marines of the duty to serve.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force under Commodore Moxey’s leadership, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain steadfast in our mission to Guard Our Heritage, as our Officers and Marines lead by example on land, in the air, and at sea, in service to the Bahamian people.
