One hundred and nine (109) brave young men and women chose to volunteer themselves for a complete transformation of mind and body this weekend. As new recruits and members of New Entry 59/28 within the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, when successfully completed, they will develop leadership, character, and professional military skills. However, to accomplish this, they will be fully immersed into military culture, forced to push themselves beyond their known physical limits and will be mentally stressed, stripped and then strengthened to endure whatever tasks await them in service to their country. This 16-week uncomfortable – but necessary – process will assist them in transitioning from civilian to military life as they will become the next wave of proud Bahamians to contribute to our nation’s safety and security. We wish them the best.(RBDF Photos by Able Seaman Michael E.
