Defence Headquarters, 25 DEC. ‘21 (RBDF): In a multi-national suspected drug apprehension operation, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Operation Bahamas and Turks and Caicos (OPBAT), the Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU), and the United States Coast Guard apprehended suspected drugs on a beach at the northern end of Great Inagua on Friday 24 December 2021.

OPBAT reported the sighting of a vessel with suspected drug packages and two persons onboard. RBDF safe boat proceeded to the location to investigate, however, due to the shallow littoral area the location had to be accessed via the land. RBDF members along with DEU members proceeded to the location via vehicle and confirmed two suspects along with thirty-four bails of suspected marijuana, which were apprehended and handed over to the Police.

The RBDF continues to make significant strides in Guarding Our Heritage.
