As the country celebrated 48 years as an independent nation, the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Defence and Police forces were out on Clifford Park in solidarity to help mark the occasion.
As the world continues to accept its new normal amidst the Coronavirus pandemic, this auspicious event was celebrated in keeping with the COVID-19 Emergency Orders. On this night, the military and law enforcement agencies marched onto Clifford Park, and hoisted the Bahamian flag, which signified the dawning of independence. In attendance were Bishop Delton Fernander and officers and members of the Bahamas Christian Council, who led the way in offering prayers for the nation.
As the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to patrol and protect the territorial integrity of The Bahamas, the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King along with the Officers and Marines remain steadfast in its unwavering commitment, sacrifice and service toward the development of the country.
