In keeping with the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s maritime strategic plan and Commander Defence Force’s vision of enhanced mission effectiveness in regards to border protection against transnational security threats; marines attached to the Exuma Land and Sea Park uncovered forty-eight pounds of suspected marijuana on Hawksbill Cay, Exuma Chain on 13 December 2020.

After receiving information of illegal activities on Little Hawksbill Cay, the RBDF Marines assigned to the area, along with the Park Warden investigated and found several small bags of suspected marijuana on the Cay. The bags and contents were turned over to the relevant authorities for further investigation.

This arrest has been a result of the consistent efforts of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and their strategic intent to rid the waters of the Bahamas of illicit transnational activities that threaten and security of The Bahamas.
