Marines from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force assigned duties in Abaco worked jointly with the Customs, Police and Immigration officials in rendering first aid assistance to individuals involved in a single car crash on Monday past (October 6).

Petty Officer Joseph Pugh, Marine Mechanic Lorenzo Rolle and Marine Mechanic Philip Ferguson were at Treasure Cay Airport around 2:00 p.m., when a vehicle travelling in the northerly direction into Marsh Harbour lost control. The vehicle with four occupants rolled over and ended up several feet into nearby bushes.

Two passengers were ejected from the vehicle and the other two were assisted from the badly damaged vehicle. The combined effort of the uniformed branches rendered first medical assistance to the injured persons, before they were all transported to the nearby Clinic in Coopers Town with the help of the Treasure Cay Fire Department.  Three of the individuals were eventually airlifted to New Providence for further treatment.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to the safeguarding and protection of our country and its people.
