The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) commemorated its 46th anniversary with a NORTHERN COMMAND annual church service held on Sunday, April 19, at Community at Heart Tabernacle Church of God of Prophecy, Coral Road, Freeport, Grand Bahama.
Held under the theme “Service with Excellence for Greater Impact,” the service highlighted the importance of professionalism, discipline, and commitment among members of the Defence Force. The service provided an opportunity to give thanks to God for His blessings over the past year and to invoke His divine guidance for the year ahead. Deputy Commander Defence Force Captain Natasha Miller was in attendance representing Commander Defence Force Commodore Floyd Moxey.
The Hon. Ginger Moxey, Minister for Grand Bahama, reminded Officers and Marines “you are the living breadth of the people’s Defence Force that Sir Lynden Pindling envisioned more than a half century ago. You are guardians of our sovereignty and you are the steady hands in our times of distress.”
RBDF Chaplain the Rt. Honourable Bishop Delton Fernander shared an inspiring message on “A National Call.” The NORTHERN COMMAND annual service forms an important part of the Force’s anniversary observances and brings together officers, marines, civilian staff, and their families in a time of worship, reflection, and thanksgiving.
The Service is an expression of gratitude the God for continued protection, strength, and guidance bestowed upon members of the Defence Force as they faithfully carry out their duties in service to the nation. Commander Origin Deleveaux currently serves as Commanding Officer NORTHERN COMMAND.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force, under the leadership of Commodore Floyd P. Moxey, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain steadfast in our mission to Guard Our Heritage, as our Officers and Marines lead by example on land, in the air, and at sea, in service to the Bahamian people.
