In an effort to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and the community at large, Officers and Marines deployed to Southern Command, have been busy with their involvement in the local community.Led by Captain of Southern Command, Captain Michael Hanna, the Matthew Town Detachment paid courtesy calls on the Island Administrator, Mr. Marlin Lerary, Police Superintendent Farquharson, and Inspector Ferguson, of the local Inagua Police, Principal Nishgo Collie of the Inagua All-Age School and Nurse Patty Fawkes, Vernecia Saunders, and the medical staff at the Matthew Town Clinic.The visits were followed by a community service project, where marines cleared away debris, and cleaned, and pressure-washed the exterior of the local Community Clinic. Supervised by Chief Petty Officer Shannondon Mckenzie and Petty Officer Angelo Coakley, the detachment is committed to taking on initiatives which will further build relationships and leave a positive impact on the local community while carrying out their duties while stationed there.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to Guarding Our Heritage.(RBDF Photos by: Matthew Town Detachment)
