DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS, 21 JAN. ‘23 (RBDF): In keeping with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s intent for maintaining the welfare of personnel, Chief Petty Officer Adams and Leading Woman Hart of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Unit paid a special visit to members of the Ragged Island detachment yesterday.

While on the ground, the unit was able to converse with the Marines and allow them the opportunity to raise concerns and give suggestions in a neutral environment. The unit also used this opportunity to uplift the spirits of Marines by praying for them and their families.

The purpose of the visit is part of an increased effort to improve the unit’s welfare outreach capability within the force, by having a continuous presence that demonstrates the care and concern of the command.

As the unit transitions, it remains focused on yielding better results by shifting its efforts and style of operation to allow persons to become more receptive. It also plans to make regular visits to bases and outpost throughout the Commonwealth of the Bahamas in hopes of improving morale, welfare, and recreational provisions for service men and women in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.
