The Military Police and Force Protection, and Military Aid to Civilian Authority (MACA) units recognized four (4) exceptional Marines of the Quarter on April 14, 2025, at HMBS Coral Harbour. Presenting the awards were Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee and department heads.
In a ceremony marked by pride and professionalism, the Military Police, Force Protection, and Military Aid to Civilian Authority (MACA) units of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force came together to recognize the exceptional service and dedication of four outstanding Marines.The formal presentation celebrated the Inter-Department Marines of the Quarter, highlighting their individual excellence and collective contributions to their respective departments.
Able Seaman Tomiro Moncur was named MACA Marine of the Quarter, acknowledged for his unwavering commitment, strong work ethic, and exemplary performance in carrying out operational duties. His leadership potential and dedication to mission readiness set a highstandard for his peers. Marine Seaman Glenville Scavalla earned the runner-up title, praised for his consistent professionalism, support to the unit, and reliability in high-pressure situations.
In the Military Police Department, Woman Marine Nina Nairn was selected as Marine of the Quarter for her exceptional discipline, steadfast leadership, and devotion to duty. Her attention to
detail and strong sense of responsibility made her a standout among her colleagues. Marine Seaman Enrique Lightbourne was recognized as runner-up, commended for his outstanding
conduct, dependability, and positive attitude in the execution of his responsibilities.
A special highlight of the event was the presentation made to Leading Woman Marine Precious Woods, who was honored for her distinguished service during her tenure within the Military Police Department. Her commitment to excellence and instrumental role in the day-to-day operations of the unit left a lasting impact. She is deeply missed by the leadership team and fellow Marines, who deemed it fitting to formally acknowledge her invaluable contributions.
Commander Andrew Bowe was in attendance to extend personal congratulations to each honoree. He applauded their achievements and encouraged continued excellence in service. These recognitions not only celebrate individual excellence but also underscores the ongoing commitment to professionalism, discipline, and national service as part of the Commander Defence Force’s intent.
