Over one hundred Officers and Marines from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force were recognized and honoured during the final day of the Presentation of Medals and Awards ceremony at HMBS CORAL HARBOUR on Friday, March 19, 2021.

In keeping with Commander Defence Force, Dr. Raymond King’s leadership focus on talent management- recognizing and rewarding organizational members for exemplary services, meritorious acts, and prolonged services marked by exceptional merit and conduct, the Officers and Marines were awarded various awards and decorations as tokens of appreciation for their contributions and stellar services to the country, and the organization.

Among the honorees were thirty-seven Non-Commissioned Officers, who were presented with their Warrants by the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, the Most Honorable Sir Cornelius A. Smith. Additionally, one hundred and fifteen Officers and Marines received twenty-five (25)-year Long Service clasps and the eighteen-year Long Service and Good Conduct Medals.

Bringing final remarks was the Minister of National Security, the Honorable Marvin Dames, who congratulated and thanked the recipients on behalf of the Governor-General, for their invaluable service to the people of The Bahamas over the years.

Minister Dames commended Commodore Raymond King, Commander Defence Force, his Executive Command, and Officers and Marines for their significant contribution to the growth and development of the Force and the country.
