DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS, 29 JAN. ‘23 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence in conjunction with local partnering law enforcement agencies, participated in the VIP Protection Course hosted by the Security and Intelligence Branch of the Royal Bahamas Police Force under the theme “Enter to Learn, Leave to Serve”. The course concluded with a graduation ceremony held on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Police Training College.

The course introduced participants to weapons handling, analyzing techniques, and defensive mechanisms in an effort to increase VIP protection capabilities of law enforcement personnel, as the Bahamas prepares to host the Caribbean Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

During his address, Minister of Labor and Immigration, the Honorable Keith Bell congratulated participants on their achievement and expressed his gratitude on behalf of himself and the Government of the Bahamas. He also noted that having such initiatives in place would help to reconfigure and redesign the way officers protect and serve.
