Consistent with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s command philosophy and priority of enhancing the morale and welfare of serving members and veterans, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force paid final respect respects for former comrade, the late Able Mechanic Eugene Weir.  

Following a memorial service at Bethel Baptist Church, Meeting Street on Saturday January 8, 2020, the cremated remains of Able Mechanic Weir was taken aboard a Defence Force vessel and his ashes was spread at sea.

Attended by Captain Shawn Adderley, Acting Captain Coral Harbour and Commander Floyd Moxey, RBDF Base Executive Officer, the Officers and Marines participated in a brief ceremony at HMBS CORAL HARBOUR. Ms. Donna Weir, Wife of the deceased Marine, along with family members went aboard patrol craft P-127 to spread his ashes outside the harbour.

Commodore Raymond King and the Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force extend condolences to the family of Able Mechanic Weir. The organization is indebted to his dedicated services to our country.
